4yo Free Preschool

The State has launched an initiative to provide FREE preschool for all qualifying four year olds! The program is an expansion of the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) and is fully funded by the state of Michigan. Enrollment for the program has expanded to all families, regardless of income, while prioritizing families most in need.

WHEN TO REGISTER

Registration Phases

Registration is done in PHASES based on the following:

Your child's birthdate
All children must be 4 by December 1
Your income
There are no income limits. HOWEVER, income levels are divided into 2 tiers.
Tier 1 families have priority registration, and Tier 2 families will follow.

After determining your Tier Level, go to the REGISTRATION DATES tab below to see the first day that you will be eligible to register your child.

FREE 4-year-old Half Day Preschool Class
1:00 - 4:00 (M-F)
FREE 4-year-old Full Day Preschool Classes
8:45 - 3:45 (M-F)
9:00 - 4:00 (M-F)

CHILDCARE
You will be able to register for childcare the same day that you register for one of the FREE classes.

The cost of childcare is as follows:
$95 Registration Fee

Morning Care
6:45 to start of school = $15.00
7:30 to start of school = $8.00
Afternoon Care
end of school to 5:00 = $8.00
end of school to 6:00 = $15.00

You may select the days and times at the time of registration. This will then become your schedule for year and your weekly tuition will be based on this schedule.

When you are ELIGIBLE to register, your first step will be to apply with MiEcc by clicking on the link below:

If you submit an application prior to your eligibility date, your application will NOT be approved

MiECC MUST approve your application before moving on to the next step, and this may take several days. When your application is approved by MiECC, you will receive an email providing you with links to complete Step Three.

Step Three

Confirmation

Once you have successfully completed ALL steps, you will receive an email confirming that you are registered for one of our FREE preschool classes!
Until you receive the confirmation email, you are NOT fully registered, and a spot is not being held for your child.
Families will be assigned to one of our 2 locations (ECC or CHS).
In August you will receive notification of your assigned teacher and location.

About Us

QUALIFIED STAFF

Each staff member has been carefully selected and trained. We require a higher standard of certification than the State mandates, which means our teachers are Michigan Certified or Early Childhood certified.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that children learn best through purposeful play and social interaction. We have small classes that provide extensive opportunities for students to excel in active learning!

ACADEMICS

We strive to meet each child at their academic level. We focus on feeding their love of learning, while building a firm foundation of basic skills. Each class incorporates curriculum that is aligned with Clarkston Schools' curriculum.

Schoolcare Works User Guides

The Early Childhood Center uses SchoolCare Works for registration, and billing/scheduling for childcare. Once registration is complete, parents will be able to create an online account with School Care Works to access all of their account information! Parents can also download a mobile app to any smartphone or tablet!

Please take advantage of the following downloads which will give you step-by-step instructions for creating an online account (Connect Portal), and downloading and using the mobile app (Insite Parent).
