Preschool Curriculum

Philosophy

Our developmentally appropriate preschool programs promote hands-on, active learning for children ages 2-5. Children connect meaning to lessons through purposeful play-based activities that foster learning through exploration and encourage independence. Our nurturing ECC teachers work individually with each child to develop positive self-esteem, resilience, essential skills in literacy and math, and a love of learning.

As children play, they learn about the world and themselves. They develop new social and emotional skills, enrich their creativity, explore new ideas, improve coordination, and explore essential literacy and mathematical concepts.

The Clarkston Community Schools Early Childhood curriculum is designed to promote hands-on, child-initiated, and open-ended exploration.
